Knit: the Infinite Weave

Knitting is the art of sliding a single thread without ever breaking it, creating a surface that breathes with the wearer. In the Atelier Arthenéa, knitting becomes a tool of precision and poetry: we use it to weave complex inlays and jacquards that follow the logic of a painting, allowing us a freedom of color and texture that industrial processes must necessarily simplify. This technique allows us to eliminate seams and accommodate the natural fall of the yarn, building fluid volumes that arise directly on the shape. It is a slow and circular process, where each point is a gesture dedicated to the freedom of the body and the beauty of details.

From the myths of antiquity to the Renaissance courts, knit has dressed history. Arthenéa recovers this noble tradition to transform it into a contemporary language, where the knowledge of the past meets the design of tomorrow.

Handwork allows you to build the garment in one piece, following the natural lines of the body. Without interruptions or unnecessary thicknesses, the shirt becomes a fluid and lightweight extension of the wearer.

We use knitting to "paint" with thread. The manual intarsia technique allows us to manage complex color changes and patterns with a precision and creative freedom that machines cannot achieve, creating real paintings to wear.

Working by hand preserves the natural elasticity and shine of the fibers, which mechanical traction tends to stress. By adjusting the tension point by point, the hand infuses the garment with a lively softness and an ability to adapt to the body that only an artifact born slowly can offer.
