It has been a long time since I last sat down to write to you…
In between, it’s been a summer filled with family, trips to the seaside house, friends, and pure emotion.
But it wasn’t all rest and relaxation. I worked on one of the most beautiful Arthenéa project to date: my very first custom order. A client brought me a piece that was deeply special to her, yet forgotten in her wardrobe, needing an evolution to come back to life.
What an honor that she placed it in my hands.
Specifically, it was a removable lining from inside a leather jacket—precisely, a long, knee-length fur vest that needed a new skin.
And that became my mission. I designed a long-sleeved cardigan for it, crafted to be fully reversible so she could choose whether to show the knitted side or the fur side to the world, depending on her mood or the occasion…
Its neutral colors paired with a strong personality give it an understated, versatile elegance.
The process involved researching reversible knit stitches, sourcing soft, 100% natural raw materials, and making precise calculations to ensure the hand-knitted body and the fur lining fit together seamlessly, as if they were one.
The feeling of building this piece step by step and watching everything fall into place brought immense satisfaction. I learned so much—new knitting and hand-sewing techniques—always driven by enthusiasm and the hope of bringing my vision to life. It gives me so much faith in my work and reassures me that I am on the right path. Because while it’s easy to feel lost along the way, finding your groove again is what makes it so rewarding.
To me, this project is the essence of Arthenéa:
one of a kind, hand-made and upcycled.
Here are a few glimpses of the process. And remember, if you have a piece tucked away in your closet, let’s create something unique together for your own piece of history!
